Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does this take?
Some of this depends on how long it takes your church to get reports to us and which level of consultation you select.
  • What do we have to provide to you?
We ask that you come into this process with an open mind. We will ask for giving records, attendance records, official policies, budget, and spending history. These will all allow us to gain a better understanding of the priorities of the church, the trends within the church, and the overall health and direction of the church.
  • How Much does it cost?
Cost is determined by the level of consultation, the size of your church, and your available resources. We will work with you to determine a price that is fair, yet manageable. Cost is based on the size of the church and the amount of available resources. Our goal is to help the church however we can. We don’t let set fees stand in the way of a beneficial partnership. We want to operate on a system of trust. We won’t try to take financial advantage of you and your church, and we trust that you will be honest and not take financial advantage of us.
  • How do we pay and when is it due?
50% is due within two weeks of signing the agreement and 50% is due at the time we deliver final reports. We will not begin work until the first payment is received.
  • How will you communicate with us?
We prefer to communicate by phone or video (ZOOM or Skype) with email being used to confirm what was discussed.
  • What are your qualifications?
Our lead consultant has 20 years of pastoral ministry experience, has started a church, merged that church into an established church, revitalized a church, and pastored an established church. These churches range in size from 20 to over 700. He has a doctorate in church leadership and successfully received certification to become a church consultant. He has also served on boards of multiple non-profit organizations.
  • What denominations do you work with?
We work with churches from a variety of denominations such as Independent Baptist, Southern Baptist, Bible Churches, Non-denominational churches, Community Churches, Church of Christ, Church of God, Presbyterian, and others. While there are difference between these groups, the principals of revitalization are consistent.
  • What is the difference between Virtual and Comprehensive Consultations?
Similarities: First, many of the reports and surveys conducted are the same. For instance, both levels include the demographic report, psychographic report, church health report, website audit, and social media review. Second, all of the information that we will ask you to send us will be the same. Differences: First, all meetings will be done via video instead of in person. This will limit our understanding of strengths and weaknesses due to the fact that we cannot be on your property, meet with people in person, or attend a worship service. Second, there are additional services included in the comprehensive consultation such as facility audit, worship service analysis, community surveys, and in-person interviews.
  • What Do We Receive (Deliverables)?
All consultation levels culminate in a Detailed Consultation Report (usually 50-75 pages) that will include an overview of all the findings, plus recommendations, and additional resources.
  • Who makes your travel arrangements?
Our consultant will make his own modest travel arrangements and will submit receipts for reimbursement. (For visits that are closer than a 4-hour drive, we prefer to drive with standard mileage reimbursement rates applying. If we have to fly, we travel in coach. Hotel arrangements usually cost around $150 per night.)
  • How long are you on-site?
This depends on if you add any additional services. Usually, the visit is 48 hours. These are full days, but everything in our full consultation can be accomplished during that time. Adding on services such as worship service analysis or other on-site services may add an additional 24-48 hours on-site. Some services such as church-wide presentations may require an additional visit with additional travel costs.
